Apple ‘iPad mini’ may hit the shelves as early as 2012

The rumors of an iPad Mini have once again surfaced saying that Apple will produce a smaller version of its popular tablet measuring 7.85-inches.

For well over a year now rumors have popped up from time to time that Apple could come out with a smaller version of the iPad to compete with the growing number of  smaller tablets such as the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet.  The latest report says the iPad 3 will launch in the spring.

As for the new small iPad, it will be smaller than the existing one. Several unknown trusted sources have said that the iPad Mini is coming in Q4 of 2012 and it will feature a 7.85-inch touch screen.

Could this upcoming device be dubbed as the iPad Mini? The firm has yet not unveiled the name for it and the rumor says that it will be the iPad Mini.

For now, the iPad 3 has newly been whispered to land with a Retina Display technology with 2048 x 1536 pixels display resolution and will be powered by latest A6 Dual Core processor. The company did not make available any authorized announcement of its plans.

Considering how long these rumors have been floating around you almost have to believe that Apple has at least toyed with this concept, but that doesn’t mean that it will actually ever see production.  Devices are prototyped all the time by companies as they research different concepts, so while there may be a 7.85-inch iPad Mini floating around out there, only time will tell if we’ll ever be able to buy one.
