Apple’s new iPad has 1GB RAM, based on first unboxing and testing

Apple‘s new iPad, which was launched last Wednesday, March 7, 2012, will go on sale this friday, has a 1GB RAM, based on its first unboxing.

According to the report, the new iPad was tested through its paces in the Geekbench software by Primate Labs where it scored a 756, which was notably very close to iPad 2 that had a score of 751.

Apparently, the said test also revealed that the new iPad has 1GB of RAM, as compared to iPad 1 which had 256MB RAM and the iPad 2 which had 512 MB RAM; thus confirming earlier reports of “The Verge“.

However, MacRumors noted that the Geekbench testing only tests processor and memory performance and does not address graphics capabilities that are the focus of improvements in the A5X, which offers the same 1 GHz CPU found in the A5.

Earlier, Apple revealed its prices for the 4G LTE networks for AT&T and Verizon users, which starts at 250 MB for $14.99 and 1GB for $20, respectively; and two other options for both carriers that will cost to as much as $50 a month.

Meanwhile, among the key features of the new iPad includes having a Retina Display feature, which has a 2048×1536 pixel resolution where its first TV ad focuses on, an iSight 5-megapixel camera, 1080p video recording with image stabilization; and a voice dictation feature.
