Museum’s LEGO Skyline Features 15.5 Million Toy Bricks

The National Building Museum’s popular LEGO Architecture exhibition features 18 iconic buildings, comprising a total 15.5 million toy bricks.

In April, the Towering Ambition exhibition added three new structures to the collection: 15 Central Park West (New York City), which used 30,000 LEGO pieces and took 100 hours to construct; Halloween Night on the Metro (Washington DC), which used 23,117 bricks and took 93 hours to build; and The Winthrop, of the Signature Series (Great Falls, Va.), which used 24,000 pieces and took 220 hours to build.

The original 15 buildings were build by Adam Reed Tucker, one of 11 LEGO certified professionals in the world. The LEGO Architecture exhibition is one of the museum’s most popular and has seen 214,000 visitors since opening in July 2010. The exhibit will be open through September 3.
