Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S III Amazon preorder now for $800


 

The Samsung Galaxy S III unlocked version is now available at Amazon for preorder for almost $800, which will be released on Friday, June 1, 2012, around three weeks after it was unveiled in London during the 2012 Samsung Mobile Unpacked event.


The Samsung Galaxy S III, which will be available as GSM phone and will work on HSPA+ networks only, will cost $799.99 for the 16GB version, with the ‘pebble blue’ and ‘marble white’ edition to be released on the same date. Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone made its debut in Europe on May 29 and will also be available in the 64GB version later, with Amazon Germany reportedly listing this device for 599.00 EUR (around $787) while the 4G LTE version expected for release in the US this summer.

Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-i9300) sports a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera as well as a 1.9-megapixel front camera, and has a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor, and will run Android‘s 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.


In addition, this latest Samsung smartphone has the so-called ‘S Voice‘, a natural language user interface that allows voice control in which the user can use a voice command for information search, to play a song, send text messages and emails, among others.


Another notable feature of this Samsung Galaxy S III is the ‘Smart stay’ feature, wherein the smartphone will be able to recognize the user’s face motion while he is reading an e-book or browsing the web, by adjusting the screen brightness screen to go black when his eyes are closed.
