A comic book collection up for auction is expected to fetch over $2 million, according to reports by several international news, which will be held at Heritage Auction in New York.
Ruby Wright from Martinsville, Virginia inherited the comic book collection that include early Captain America issues, from his husband Billy.
Apparently, the Billy Wright Collection was discovered well kept inside a basement closet by 31-year-old Michael Rorrer, a great nephew of Billy from Oxnard, California.
Rorrer, who works as an operator at a plant, he thought they were cool but did not realize until months later how valuable they were. “I went home and was looking through some of them and there it was.” Rorrer was quoted on the report.
The Billy Wright collection includes 44 of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide‘s list of top 100 issues, where one of the highlighted comic books included in the collection is the Captain America no. 2 issued in 1941.
