Atlantic Sturgeon: Strange Sea Creature Seen on Folly Beach, South Carolina



A strange sea creature found at Folly Beach in South Carolina turned out to be an Atlantic sturgeon, according to reports. The strange sea creature, washed ashore and mistaken as a new fish species, was discovered over the weekend. Pictures of the creature went viral over social networking sites like Facebook and alarmed residents in the area.


The freak-looking fish, an Atlantic sturgeon, was identified by a veterinarian from a South Carolina aquarium. Reports say that these alien-like creature is actually harmless.


Atlantic sturgeon reportedly grow up to 15 feet long and can weigh over 800 pounds. The fish, however, is already included in the endangered species list.
