A Rube Goldberg, considered by the World Records Academy as the world’s largest functional machine , was established by the Society of Professional Engineers from Purdue University according to reports available. The Rube Goldberg machine was build in 5,000 hours by 14-undergraduates and one graduate Purdue students.

Reports say that the Purdue team broke their own world record for the largest Rube Goldberg machine. The machine reportedly can blow and pop a balloon in 300 steps, which is said to be a new world record for the largest functional Rube Goldberg machine.
The Rube Goldberg reportedly had music themes that include Jaws to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Indiana Jones. Among the tasks completed by the Purdue Rube Goldberg machine include peeling an apple, juicing an orange, toasting bread, making a hamburger, changing a light bulb, loading a CD and sharpening a pencil.
The tasks were completed by the Rube Goldberg using a platform with two rotating paddlewheels to reveal and change new sets of modules to finish the tasks in sequentially.
