White Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone to be available before end of February 2012

Nokia announced on Monday, February 6, 2012 that the white Nokia Lumia 800 will be available later this month, which will be its fourth model since it went on sale last November.

As per Nokia, the white Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone will be released before the end of February in ten countries in Europe. According to Finland‘s smartphone company, Nokia Lumia 800‘s white version will be sold first in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Finland, Poland and Switzerland with other countries to follow.

“Since we began selling it late last year, the Nokia Lumia 800 has received rave reviews around the world,” Nokia Product Marketing Vice President Ilari Nurmi said.

“Now in white, the Lumia 800 brings with it an even more premium look and feel with its gloss finish, but packed with power and performance underneath its sleek body.” Nurmi added.

“Pure white is very, very difficult to achieve. We had to try hundreds of white pigments to achieve the right color and opaqueness.” Nokia Color and material designer Tiina Aarras was quoted.

Nokia Lumia 800 was unveiled last October, along with Lumia 710, as the company’s first handsets using the Windows Phone operating system, and its first attempt to join the smartphone competition, which Apple iPhones and Google’s Android OS are quite ahead.

Specifications

Nokia Lumia 800 features a 3.7-inch AMOLED ClearBlack curved display, a 1.4 GHz processor, 16GB of internal user memory, 512 MB of RAM, and looks like the very similar to the MeeGo-based Nokia N9.

In addition, it has a Carl-Zeiss, f2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 3.7-inch, curved-glass, AMOLED screen, and was earlier offered in three colors such as cyan, magenta and black.
